Pilates vs Yoga
Two mindful practices, distinct intentions, and how to choose what serves you.

Shared attention
Both Pilates and yoga value breath, awareness, and a deeper relationship with the body. Their methods and primary intentions, however, are distinct.
The Pilates approach
Pilates centers controlled movement, trunk organization, alignment, and progressive strength. Equipment can add assistance or resistance with remarkable precision.
The yoga approach
Yoga encompasses physical postures as part of a much broader philosophical tradition. Classes often emphasize mobility, sustained shapes, breath practices, and meditation.
Choosing your practice
There is no need to choose permanently. Consider your goals, preferences, and how each practice makes you feel. Many women find the two approaches complement each other beautifully.
